Hello! I'm John Replogle, founder of Symfodemos. When I started working on this project, I had recently moved to Paris, and I didn't know anybody yet. I had started looking for opportunities to play music again and collaborate with other musicians, but I found the available online tools for that task didn't fit my needs. I ended up finding some FaceBook groups that were kind of what I was looking for, but I didn't have a way to search by the criteria that really mattered to me as a musician. So I started working on Symfodemos in hopes of creating a tool that meets the needs and expectations of musicians specifically. I tried taking the elements that I liked best about different types of social networks and putting them together in the way that seemed most helpful to musicians. I wanted the possibility to have an open forum where you can see what others are talking about while still being able to search for specific people or groups through a musician's lens. I want this platform to be as useful as possible to all musicians, so I am constantly looking for feedback on new features to include and ways to improve the user experience.
